Urgent parking info for food fest.

Hi all, after a field inspection today we’ve decided car parking on the field from Barlow Lane is not practical – even Steph’s 4×4 was sliding around. Very sorry but better this than a repeat of Glastonbury. We hope you’ll still come – it was lovely and sunny there this p.m.!
Here are some options. You could park in Winlaton, there are 2 free car parks, and walk back – about 10 minutes walk.
You could park at Blaydon or the Metrocentre and get the 49 bus, getting off at the corner of Black Lane and Barlow Lane, where it is about 5 minutes walk to the farm. See this link for timetable. http://www.nexus.org.uk/bus/timetables…

If you live in West Gateshead you could get the R6 minibus which stops at the gates. Timetable here.

There is parking for about 20 cars (if you park neatly!) on the piece of wasteland directly on the bend on Burn Road just down from the farm. There is also room for about 6 more opposite Burnside Motors (Blaydon Burn MOT) on Longridge Road. Both these are close to the entrance.

There is a very small and rather muddy car park directly opposite the entrance to the farm (by Beech House) which we are keeping for people who have limited mobility or small children as this avoids most of the hill. There is also room for about 4 cars with blue badges on the drive of Beech House.
There will be signs and stewards on Burn Road tomorrow – please drive carefully. If you find somewhere else to park please be considerate of local residents and other road users.
