Local Food Festival Update.
Feeling hungry yet? Here’s what we’ll be having at our yummy local food festival this Saturday 2nd. July, Blaydon Burn Farm NE21 6JR , 12.00 -4.00 p.m. https://www.facebook.com/events/231026467259490/
Wood fired pizza and garlic bread from Earth and Fire, bread and baked savouries from Wildfire, curry, jams and chutney from Pickle Palace, hog roast, burgers and sausages from High Strothers farm, local beer, including a special rhubarb festival ale from Fox and Hounds at Coalburns, vegan cheesecakes and gluten-free traybakes from Naturally Sweet, strawberries (we hope) and other veg from Gibside Community farm, fresh herb teas (and the more usual hot drinks) from TwiG, veg, eggs and cheese from the Paddock, duck and quail eggs and preserves from Self-sufficient in Suburbia, living salads from the Hop Garden, honey from Blaydon Honey.
All washed down with fantastic music from the 10th Avenue Band, Tango Zapatito, The Big Blues Band and Alice Band. Have a dance or laze at our picnic tables. Children’s activities include craft and recycling, a treasure hunt, games and hula hooping. The Hop Garden will be showing how to make your own plant pots from paper and selling jute bags to carry your produce home. There will be plants from Tom and Joe’s to buy, a tombola to chance your luck and a local history walk to explore the area. We will have information about how to reduce your carbon footprint and what “transition” is.
