Brilliant day at our local food festival

audience best picture 20160702_155240 Despite the weather, despite the parking difficulties, this event was a huge success again this year with over 300 people attending (some staying all afternoon through rain and wind) and a fair profit made. (This was not the purpose of the day but all money will be used to put on future activities).

Huge thanks to our volunteer gate and parking stewards – Andy Blanchflower, Sheila and Rachael Oman, Pauline Gertig, Jane Gifford, Nick Ball, Mick Marston, Laura’s mum and dad and Nigel and his son. Also to Sue Lynn from Winlaton and District Local History Society for leading the local history walk and all those who helped with the children’s activities.
Also thanks to Tom and Joe’s nurseries (Wylam) for donations of plants for sale, to all those who donated herbs for the herb teas (Lemon Balm was the clear winner!), all the musicians who kept us mellow and entertained all afternoon, Steph and Ike of course for the use of their lovely farm, Mick and Stubrew for the rhubarb festival ale, all stallholders for your efforts and the variety of foods.foodfest 2016 002foodfest 2016 030foodfest 2016 019foodfest 2016 014Paul best picture20160702_150114foodfest 2016 009
