Because LOcal FOod =LOw FOod miles=LOw FOotprint (carbon!)=LOnger FOr us and our children. No long distance travel and unnecessary refrigeration, fewer pesticides and fertilisers. Less use of oil and other fossil fuels slows down climate change.
Also your money stays local and creates new jobs and services in Gateshead.
Come and talk to the producers about how your food is produced, or even get involved!
