If you drive to our event on July 15th. you’ll need to think about parking. There is no parking at Blaydon Burn House at all. There’s a small amount of parking for disabled people only, just inside the Beech House entrance. There’s some parking on Burn Road – waste ground at the junction of Longridge Road and Burn Road. You’ll see it on the bend. Please park carefully as quite a few cars will fit in there if everyone is considerate. Then you can walk just round the corner to the Burn House entrance. There’s also a bit of waste ground opposite the Beech House entrance which the Council are allowing us to use. We hope that this will be mainly used by those who can’t walk too far or have young children as it’s the easiest access after the reserved parking on Beech House drive.
If you don’t mind walking or getting the bus a short way, you could park in Winlaton, there are 2 free car parks, and walk back – about 10 minutes walk.
You could park at Winlaton, Blaydon or the Metrocentre and get the 49 bus (runs every 20 minutes), getting off at the corner of Black Lane and Barlow Lane, where it is about 5 minutes walk to the farm. When you get off the bus walk up to the junction, turn right along Barlow Lane then immediately right down Burn Road. The farm is at the bottom of the hill before the turn in the road. See this link for timetable. http://www.nexus.org.uk/bus/timetables…
We are hoping that there will also be parking in the farm field which you access from Barlow Lane – gateway opposite the entrance to Normans Riding Farm. There’ll be signs, balloons etc. on the gate – on the RHS as you come out of Winlaton, on a bend. BUT please note this is just a field so may be bumpy, slippy etc. If the weather is wet this parking will be CLOSED so please look out for announcements in the days leading up to the festival.
