The Paddock Farm Shop
The Paddock Farm Shop offers a range of organic, locally produced
fruit and veg, free range eggs, oils, chutneys, jams, dairy,
fresh bread and more with the focus on ethical, sustainable,
local and organic food.
We offer a delivery service and host events based around
reducing food waste.

Opening Time:
Open Wednesday and Thursday 10am-5pm and Friday 11am-4.30pm
with late night Friday opening occasionally for take-away events.

Currently closed weekends and Bank holidays with some Saturday
opening announced throughout the year.

Blaydon Burn Farm:
We are a small farm with field reared traditional breeds of cattle and
sheep. We sell the meat from our animals from freezers. Some people
use the contact page on our website www.blaydonburnfarm.com to arrange
a time to come and choose from the freezers. You're also welcome to
have a walk in our fields and woods where you can see how the animals
live.

Gibside Community Farm Community Interest Company
Gibside Community Farm Community Interest Company
Gibside Community Farm CIC is a member-run community supported
agriculture co-operative. We grow veg and fruit at two sites:
the Walled Garden at Gibside and a large field on the Fellside Road
near Burnopfield. Members pay an annual fee and receive vegetables
and fruit. Some time is put in by all members mainly growing
activities but it can be selling on the market, design and admin
tasks too. Membership is currently £52 per year

Opening Time:
A sales stand of our seasonal vegetables is at the Gibside central area where the café and shops are situated. This is operated on an honesty box system. Open all the hours that Gibside National trust is open. We supply veg to Laura at the Paddock in High Spen and to Abundant Earth in Durham.

We run stalls at a number of markets throughout the year. See our Facebook page for more details.

Veg growing work times are usually Friday and Monday 11 am onwards.

The Hop Garden Community Garden & Orchard
We are a community project set up to share knowledge and skills
about growing your own food using organic and permaculture
principles. We grow mainly perennial crops, such as soft fruit and
apples, along with herbs, flowers and other vegetables.
Our signature plant is our hops, which have already graced
local brews! We tend to have a few hop rhizomes available each
Spring for sale. We also have a poly tunnel, compost toilet and wood
fired oven and run several public events every year.

Opening Time:
Normally open Friday-Sunday from 11am until 4.30pm
(May until end of September) and at other times by prior arrangement

The Pickle Palace
Fighting against food waste, The Pickle Palace uses gluts and
food waste from major supermarkets to upcycle what would be thrown
into the bin into jams, pickles and chutneys. Any surplus food
is offered into our Luncheon clubs and given away to our local
community with a payf(pay as you feel) Mini Market.
